Conor's Car

Conor, pointing to Tim's car when we got home yesterday: "Dada's car, dada home!"

Then I pointed to my car: "Whose car is that Conor?"

Conor: "Conor's car."

Lunch Date

Conor and I had the day off school/work Monday.  He was very talkative at lunch and was telling me about his favorite vehicles, so I pulled out the camera and of course he clammed up.  I did manage to get a little bit of "conversation" out of him.  (Unfortunately the first half is a little out of focus because I'm still trying to figure out the video on my new camera.)

Maybe it's just mama goggles, but I love watching him eat.  I think in part that's because sometimes I can't believe just a year and a half ago, a tiny(er) version of this little guy was struggling to nurse.  Now, here he is shoveling man sized bites of mashed potatoes (mostly) into his mouth.

Plurals

We're hearing some plural words from Conor these days.  Even when he's referring to just one of something, he prefers to use the plural.  Maybe he means, "Mama, make more of those!"  Here are some examples:

Butterflies - "Buttssssss" or "Buttas"
Dogs - "Daths"
Ducks - "Duts"

I think I even heard him say trucks this morning ("tucks"), referring to a basket of toy cars.

"Baby"

Conor's teacher reported yesterday that he was saying, "Baby", directed at the younger members of his class who aren't walking yet.  He's such an elitist already.

Chatting

Conor shows off his words and his new thing, shaking his head "No."

"Dada"

Conor has started saying "dada" as part of his babble. Actually it's more like "ahheeblablaeeeoohbababaDADA", but we're definitely hearing a "D" sound, which is new for him . Even though he isn't really meaning anything by it now, we still like hearing it!
